Henry is 13!

This boy has had a great month! He turned 13 on October 18 and had a super fun party playing basketball with some friends. He also made the middle school basketball team and he made all-county band playing the bass clarinet. He has changed so much in the past year. He has went from a little boy to a man. I’m so proud of him.

Halloween 2017

We had a great Halloween despite the fact Nate and Henry did not dress up and Bryan had to work night shift.  Hooked up with Reese who had dressed up her dog Cooper like a lion and she was a lion tamer.  Also ran into Elizabeth and her brother Craig and at one point we had 12 people and one dog in my car! My first trick-or-treaters of the night. Grace and Eliza Bost! Luke as Kylo REN

Go cart

Nate decided he wanted to have a new project. He wanted to find a go cart frame and build it a new engine. I advertised on WGOG radio station flea market. I can’t believe how many calls I received! This is what he ended up buying. He is so excited to have a long weekend to work on it.

Mammoth Lakes

Mammoth Lakes was the perfect place to rest, relax and get ready for Yosemite. A cold morning turned into a beautiful day and we enjoyed laying by the pool. Henry hurt his toe in the pool luke  did a lot of shopping! Our sweet waitress at Sushi Roe

Death Valley

After a delicious breakfast we headed to the pawn shop the famous show Pawn Stars we only stayed a few minutes and then we began our drive into death Valley. Death Valley is the lowest point on earth and it is the hottest place in America. Today the temperature got down to 119°  it is so hot that nothing can survive here except rattlesnakes, black widow spiders, and scorpions. They are also a special snail that lives only in this area. It rains a total of 2 inches per year. It was so hot we did not even sweat and your heart rate was elevated with a short walk. We tried to dig up some sand but it was hard as a rock and salty. Nate absolutely loved it and plans on returning!  Then we began what might be the longest drive ever to a city called Mammoth Lakes. We went from 120° to 60°! Mammoth Lakes is where the US Olympic ski team trains.  It is a charming city and we look forward to exploring tomorrow
