Thursday and Friday

Thursday and Friday were lots of fun too!
We spent all day Thursday on the beach again, this time finding 42 sharks teeth!
The tide just kept on coming in despite our efforts to build a blockade!
The guys indulged me by going to one of my favorite restaurants, Carrabbas! Then another dozen....
This morning we woke the late sleepers up so that we could hit wonder works before the crowd did! It was so much fun!
The brain game
Luke and I rode this crazy ride too!!
It was a roller coaster simulator that actually really went upside down. There was a go Pro camera inside that videoed you so that the rest of the room could see your reaction.
Here is Luke on the infamous bed of nails
Bryan and I haven't been to hard rock café in forever and we had a blast! The boys love checking out all the rock and roll memorabilia from long ago. They loved watching videos from the 80s and 90s!
Lunch was hard to top so we all picked what we wanted from the grocery store Piggly Wiggly and ate at home. Looking forward to lots more fun in Florida!

Wednesday fun

We had a great time Wednesday lounging on the beach all day!
We always find lots of sharks teeth and this year was no exception.
Don't even ask what Luke is making here!
The whole time anyone was in the water I was standing and the surf like a nervous mom!
They did use good judgment and did not go out to far.
I think watching all four Jaws movies and it being shark week has helped a little.
We came in around 4 PM and got ready for a fabulous dinner at Angelo's steak
The stakes are delicious. They come out on the sizzling platter. For years this has been one of the boys favorite restaurants.
Then on to Krispy Kreme. I am so thankful that I got sick off a doughnut on a London layover years ago. Ever since then I cannot stand the sight of them. That leaves plenty for all the boys.
Then onto a late night swim. Bye late night I mean 8 PM.😉
We are looking forward to a great day!

Beach trip 2015

We made it to the beach in record time taking a new route Bryan wanted to try.
The townhouse was just as we remembered it. We hadn't been here in 2 years. We were just getting packed last year when Bryan had his triple bypass surgery.
Only 1 tv and no internet! Sounds perfect!
Most if the decor is just as it was in the 1980s! I spend many days getting ready and listening to Whitney Houston on cassette tape.
After getting some groceries and Ultimate California Pizza to go, we hit the beach!
We only stayed about :30, we had to get back to watch something on shark week!
Looking forward to a beautiful day!

Not what you want to see when you pick your child up from country practice and it's 100° outside

The sweet girl Cynthia that I ran with yesterday collapsed in the heat.. I'm not sure if it is heat exhaustion or heat stroke but I know she was unconscious. The coaches did a great job of getting help to her fast. She will be fine. However this heat is no joke!
They didn't scare Nate off though. But when he goes to the next practice Thursday night you better believe he will have a shadow running with him.... His mom!

Cross country

Nate went out for varsity cross-country today. 39 kids showed up to run at Oconee Station. It was 97°.

I was so impressed with the kids. They were all so  encouraging to each other.
I decided to run with them. We ran for about 45 minutes to an hour.
And then it was time for the hills. We had to run a very steep hill seven times. It took about 45 minutes. I couldn't finish. I loved it so much and so did Nate!
Tomorrow night we run at sertoma field. There's very little shade there. It's going to be another tough one but we are ready for it!

Luke as catcher

They won their game and they are headed to the county finals tonight!
