Death Valley
After a delicious breakfast we headed to the pawn shop the famous show Pawn Stars we only stayed a few minutes and then we began our drive into death Valley. Death Valley is the lowest point on earth and it is the hottest place in America. Today the temperature got down to 119° it is so hot that nothing can survive here except rattlesnakes, black widow spiders, and scorpions. They are also a special snail that lives only in this area. It rains a total of 2 inches per year. It was so hot we did not even sweat and your heart rate was elevated with a short walk. We tried to dig up some sand but it was hard as a rock and salty. Nate absolutely loved it and plans on returning! Then we began what might be the longest drive ever to a city called Mammoth Lakes. We went from 120° to 60°! Mammoth Lakes is where the US Olympic ski team trains. It is a charming city and we look forward to exploring tomorrow

Day 1- ATL to LAS
We headed to ATL to fly to Vegas! Luke has been wanting a neck pillow for 2 y ars so he used a little birthday money to buy one. We all loved it! Of course we weren't together on the plane.... I always regret those cheap seats when we end up by the lavs. We got to Vegas, got our rental car and checked into our hotel... the Venetian. We were starving because it was 10 pm east coast time. Because we had a 30 minute wait on our restaurant and the boys decided to try out an oxygen bar. It's actually the same one Cliff went to back in 2006 when we went to see Ericka in the Miss America pageant! It has slightly improved since 2006. But now includes oxygen, a back massage, and essential oil rubdown we had a great Italian dinner and now Henry and Bryan are searching for a Louis Vuitton store. Nate luke and I are hitting the sack. Headed to Hoover Dam tomorrow!
