Robin's arrival

Day 1 with 7 children went great. Bryan bought and assembled a picnic table that we ate dinner at and we plan to eat all our meals there since you can hose it off. Nate, Henry & Trace got in the bubble bath (without any adults knowing), Trent suffered many injuries involving his feet while he was pushed around outside. A pretty good evening.

Kindergarten

I wanted to motivate Nate & Henry to get ready for school this fall, so I told them they could choose a prize for Henry learning to read all the kindergarten sight words and Nate learning to spell all the high-frequency words. Little did I know that Henry would learn all his words in 2 days! Now Nate has to get on the ball spelling all his words so he can get a prize too! The light saber will be here in 5 days!

Football Camp

Henry went to football camp tonight! It's a 3 day camp for 6-14 years olds (Henry's still 5 but they let him in) and he is wiped out! It was a great camp with all sorts of drills & only 1 water break during the 2:30 he was there. He was so funny after it was over. The field was wet & his feet were completely shriveled up and he was wet & dirty. Tired & hungry, he asked me if I wrote his name "in pencil" when I signed him up hoping that I could erase his name and he wouldn't have to come back tomorrow. I treated him to his most favorite food in the world, McDonald's Chicken Nuggets (he ate 10 of them!!!) then a shower & he was asleep the moment his head hit the pillow. I really hope he sleeps past 6am tomorrow!

Best Sportsmanship

I'm so proud of my boys. I had a very busy morning because they both had awards day at the same time. Nate got the sportsmanship award for the entire first grade.
